Hello to all of our Clemmons UMC parents!
HELPFUL LINKS
The goal of the Clemmons UMC student ministry to parents is:
* Transform: to transform students into disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ sets the best example for us to live by. In doing so, we seek to embed godly characteristics into our students, things like generosity, kindness, unconditional love....Few people can dispute that Christ was/is the most important person in all of human history. What better role model?
* Assist: to assist you in the spiritual well being of your child. Notice the term "assist". A youth group only exists to aid you in the spiritual development of your child, not be the sole provider. It is really an issue of time: a youth group gets 2 hours a week (on average) maximum time with your student. Compare that with the rest of the hours spent at home.
The student ministry of Clemmons UMC wants to answer the questions: how can we help you, the parent, facilitate spiritual growth at home? What can you change as a parent (in your lifestyle, personal faith, etc) to positively impact your child? We want to help your family, as a whole, grow spiritually, not just provide a place for your student to be on Sunday nights (although that is important!).
* Equip: the student ministry will consistently equip you with materials to help you as you parent teenagers.
And our purpose statement is:
• Transforming students through discipleship
• Modeling faithful relationships with Christ in all we do
• Serving families and our communities
Working together, the best years for our students are yet to be. Thanks for visiting today.
